International air freight is a fast way to deliver goods to the recipient, minimizing the risk of damage in transit. Air freight is often the only solution for businesses whose success depends on speed.

The choice of this mode of delivery is dictated by a number of factors. First and foremost, air transport is fast—in this respect, it surpasses all other modes. Aircraft require no special escort, and restricted access to airport cargo terminals eliminates the risk of theft. Air transport allows for rapid delivery of cargo even to regions with underdeveloped or nonexistent road infrastructure, including remote islands. Furthermore, international air transport requires customs clearance only twice—upon departure and arrival (unlike ground transport, which is inspected at every international border).
Features of air cargo transportation
International air cargo transportation follows the following scheme. For general and standard delivery, each shipment is individually packaged. Boxes, packages, and containers are shipped this way by air. Heavy and oversized cargo is transported on specialized cargo aircraft equipped with loading and unloading equipment.
The following items are permitted to be transported by air:
- products that comply with weight and size standards
- goods that do not pose a danger to people, property and transport
- cargo accompanied by a package of necessary documentation
If oversized cargo needs to be transported by air, additional permission from the carrier must be obtained.
Small shipments are typically stored in a warehouse awaiting departure. This takes more time, but saves money. To reduce transportation costs, we can arrange for shipment by a passing aircraft.
