International multimodal transportation
International multimodal transportation is cargo delivery that involves the integrated (alternating) use of at least two different modes of transport—truck, train, sea vessel, or airplane. The main advantage of this method is that the entire process is controlled by a single logistics company, which is responsible for all stages of transportation—from packaging of goods to unloading at the recipient's warehouse. This same company also prepares all necessary documentation (permits and shipping documents) and pays for services throughout the entire logistics chain, such as air freight, customs clearance (even if the cargo transits through several countries), transshipment, and loading and unloading.
Using multimodal solutions allows you to select the optimal route, significantly reducing transportation costs and delivery times. However, this method requires extensive experience and a high level of professionalism. The slightest organizational error will lead to failure (downtime, fines, or even cargo seizure), and the customer will suffer losses.
